Does it hurt?
Upon booking confirmation you will be given instructions to obtain two types of numbing products in order to create the most comfortable conditions for your procedure. We can apply a pre-numbing cream to the treatment area to lessen sensation for when we start, as well as use a during-treatment numbing gel to maintain your comfort levels.
It’s actually not uncommon for CTx2DN clients to have a snooze whilst having their wonderful enhancements created.
Will there be any blood during a tattoo?
There is very little to no blood during a tattoo. The depth of pigment placement is aimed at the upper dermis layer where the presence of blood vessels is minimal. Sometimes there may be a tiny presence of red blood cells with the responding lymphatic fluid as the body triggers it’s healing process - that is completely normal and barely noticeable to the naked eye.
When a machine or handtool is pushed too deeply and/or the skin is overworked by the technician; then drops or flowing blood will result. That is not ideal for healing, and detrimental to colour stability.
Sometimes a skin profile is simply thinner, more fragile, and prone to bleeding - the technique and application will be adjusted to mitigate that.
The only time there should be the presence of blood is during a removal/lightening treatment…you can read up on that further along here…

What is the Li-FT removal/lightening recovery time and after care?
In a full eyebrow session, we like to encourage maintaining the scab for as long as possible to maximise lightening potential as well as to protect and restore the skin. 7-10 days and longer, up to 2 weeks would be ideal. Ultimately, it’s the time period that you skin is able to develop, retain, and naturally shed the crust.
Li-FT LIGHTENING/REMOVAL AFTER CARE:
It is critical to follow all After Care instructions to prevent complications, scarring, and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
KEEP AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover it with a Band-Aid or dressing or anything else. Air/oxygen enables good and faster healing.
You should not be touching the area at all but if you find yourself needing to please make sure your hands are exceptionally clean.
CLEAN BY BLOTTING AREA with saline 3 times a day - for the first 3 days - using a cotton applicator, cotton round, paper towel, or gauze. Thereafter you may blot if required for ad hoc cleansing until crusts have naturally fallen away.
NO ICE – the blood vessels in the area needs to remain unconstricted and free flowing to promote osmosis and healing.
DO NOT SOAK the treated area in water.
Shower as per normal, but keep the area out of the shower spray as best you can and do not let the area stay in humidity for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet gently pat dry with a clean single use tissue or cotton round immediately.
NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING, OR SWEATY EXERCISE. No exceptions.
It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off.
DO NOT DISRUPT THE SCABBING PROCESS – no picking, no scratching.
All scabbing needs to fall off naturally.
If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.
TREAT THE AREA WITH CARE – the After Care process is just as important as the removal procedure.
ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF apply one drop of the After Care Oil 3-4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks or until the next lightening session. This is any good quality Vitamin E OIL found in any good pharmacy.
DO NOT START APPLYING AFTER CARE OIL until all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off.
LIPS:
Please drink all liquids through a straw until all scabbing has naturally fallen off.
No whitening, no peroxide toothpastes.
Cut food into smaller bites – no biting into a sandwich or burger etc.
Try to keep mouth expressions to a minimum.
It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be performed. No exceptions.
Lightening and/or removing unwanted pigment is a long process and patience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a lightening product service or laser.
Please be patient and give the process a fair chance to work. Expect visible and positive results in 2-5 sessions.
How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deeply it was implanted, and how much needs to be removed for the desired result.
Results cannot be foreseen, predicted, or guaranteed.
If at anytime you have any green or yellow puss or inflamed infection in the area of removal please advise immediately and seek medical attention.

Tattoo After Care
After Care - all procedures
No cleansers, makeup, swimming, spas, or direct water (splashing and sluicing) on the area until peeling/exfoliation has finished – or as discussed according to your specific treatment assessment.
Apply your supplied barrier/recovery cream to keep the area supple and protected the number of times as directed during aftercare discussion.
Refrain from heavy perspiration/exercise for about a week; salt and bodily fluid movement to surface is the enemy of retention and healing!
When washing: gently dab or very gently wipe the area – do not scrub or agitate.
It will be 2-3 weeks before the true colour emerges from the translucency of healing skin.
For some, it is ideal; others it may be too light, or patchy in some areas. At this time if there is patchiness you may apply makeup/colour until your scheduled Perfecting Session.
EYEBROWS:
§ Apply, very sparingly, barrier/recovery cream 2-3 times daily or as directed
§ Always apply a slightly thicker protective layer before showering, then wipe off after shower with a clean tissue
§ Between each application, wipe off old cream with a clean tissue (which takes any bodily fluids away) before reapplying more
§ If the treated skin is itchy you may not be applying enough cream and the area is drying out
§ On DAY 3 after treatment: gently wash with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser if available - otherwise clean water is fine, pat dry with a clean tissue, then resume cream until healed
§ Irritation from day 3 may also indicate a minor complication to healing – please contact me if so
§ Depending on metabolism, exfoliation levels may vary from person to person
§ Exfoliation is part of the healing process; do not worry and do not pick anything – wipe/pat only
§ Exfoliation usually takes 3-6 days and may commence on day 3, 4, or 5
§ During exfoliation the procedural area will appear to be much lighter in comparison to the shedding
§ The eyebrows will take 7-10 days to emerge after the exfoliation has finished and may appear very light initially
§ The truer level of retention will appear around about week 3
§ After healing, sunscreen use is recommended to protect the brows from fading
EYELINER / EYELASH ENHANCEMENTS – refer to verbal instructions
(Dry heal discussion)
LIPS:
§ Immediately after the procedure lips will be slightly swollen and tender and colour will appear much darker than the one chosen during the consultation
§ Apply barrier/recovery cream constantly to keep the lips moist
§ The cream will help with soreness as well as holding the colour in; if you do not apply enough cream the lips will begin to tighten and the pigmentation will come out
§ Please do not pick – they will exfoliate on their own
§ No hot drinks or spicy foods for the first day; no lipstick, kissing, or direct water for the first few days
§ The lips will exfoliate quickly after 3-4 days
§ Full lip treatments do take longer, usually a week before the swelling and flaking has finished
§ Please do not be worried if you loose colour as you could possibly lose up to 80% the first time - this is why we have Perfecting Sessions
Cold Sores:
If you have ever had a cold sore, even only one in your life, you may result in a breakout. This is caused by stress on the lips.
Precautions that may be started the day prior to treatment: Lysine tablets, Zovirax cream, or a GP prescription of anti-viral medication.
You may also take precautions up to a week post treatment as required.
The above are only precautions and cannot guarantee you will not present symptoms as the virus is always present in your system.
Of course, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further queries or concerns.
